What they want
Published by Sean October 4th, 2005 in Appeasement & Capitulation, GeneralAn Indonesian court (Indonesia being a country that will, apparently, bend over backward to appease its Islamic populace) has recently reduced the sentence of Abu Bakar Bashir, a key figure in the attacks on Bali in 2002. In a recent interview, he explained the conditions of peace from his perspective:
SA: What can the West, especially the US, do to make the world more peaceful?
ABB: They have to stop fighting Islam. That’s impossible because it is sunnatullah [destiny, a law of nature], as Allah has said in the Koran. If they want to have peace, they have to accept to be governed by Islam [emphasis added].
When these conditions shift to a simple “leave us alone” we can talk about negotiations. Until then, anyone who suggests that America can avoid conflict with the Muslim world by placating its leaders is an asshat. Wake up and smell the theocracy - if you don’t like W’s religiosity, you definitely won’t like Abu Bakar Bashir’s.
