I just overheard Keith Olbermann state that (I’m paraphrasing) “President Bush said in his speech last night that mistakes had been made in Iraq, but he didn’t say ‘I made mistakes in Iraq’”.
I suppose that no, strictly speaking, he didn’t speak those exact words. What he did say was this:
