Benjamin Powell, an economist at Suffolk University, has written an excellent piece on sweatshops.

This is a must-read for anyone who spends even a moderate amount of time marinating in righteous indignation on the subject of foreign labor. I saw Dr. Powell give a lecture along the same lines a number of years ago; the article doesn’t do justice to it, but it’s a good start.
