Tune In

My wedding photographer, Greg Janney, has recently returned from his second trip to Iraq. He arranged the trip to allow a fallen Marine’s father to visit the site of his son’s death.
An account of the trip can be found here, but more importantly, the story will be featured on Fox News’ Special Report with Brit [...]

I just overheard Keith Olbermann state that (I’m paraphrasing) “President Bush said in his speech last night that mistakes had been made in Iraq, but he didn’t say ‘I made mistakes in Iraq’”.
I suppose that no, strictly speaking, he didn’t speak those exact words. What he did say was this:
The situation in Iraq is unacceptable [...]

A Brief Thought

As usual, the Hitch has penned an especially elegant analysis of recent events in the Middle East: From Beirut to Baghdad: The ghastly predictability of nihilist violence.
Many considerations, including intense inter-Islamic Shiite-Sunni hatred, divide Ahmadinejad and Assad from the forces of al-Qaida, which would also prefer to see Iraq, Lebanon, and Afghanistan in ruins than [...]

Food for Thought

In Hollywood’s rendition of Tom Clancy’s novel, The Sum of All Fears, a 21st Century incarnation of National Socialism* attempts to trick the United States and Russia into nuculear war. The lead antagonist, a man named Dressler, states:
Let no man call us crazy. They called Hitler crazy. But Hitler was not crazy. He was stupid. [...]

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi DRT

…that’s dead right there.
Or, as Michael Totten has so eloquently put it: We Got the Motherfucker.
(please excuse the language; this is one of those rare instances where only certain words are adequate)

College Democrats of NGCSU

I recently stumbled upon this post from the College Democrats of NGCSU (soon to be my alma mater):
Is there any evidence or proof that Bush created or had [a poorly forged document alleging Iraq had attempted to purchase uranium] created?
Yes.
The charges against former White House aid, “Scooter” Libby are concrete evidence that the White House, [...]

Quiz of the day: Zawahri or Dean?

“Iraq is a catastrophe for America and Americans will leave, it will only be a matter of time.
“I say to Bush: you entered Iraq with lies, you will lose Iraq and lie about it and you will leave with the pretext that you have completed your mission … America only has to decide on [...]

Parroting the Left

Remember when Osama bin Laden started repeating points from Michael Moore late last year? Well, the trend continues. Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar sez:
They [the Bush administration] are criminals, they left the black classes in New Orleans to be killed by a natural disaster and they did not interfere. They are real “terrorists,” it is a [...]

Zarqawi’s #2 (and I use the term “number two” very deliberately in this instance) man is tango uniform.
…and certianly won’t be missed. The likes of Jane Fonda, Swamp Thing and Cindy Sheehan may squirt a few tears, but they’re probably too busy basking in the warm glow of TV cameras and reporter-BO to notice.
Notice to [...]

Thanks to Greg Palast, George Galloway’s new moniker is “Swamp Thing”.
If you missed the debate between him and Christopher Hitchens, you can listen to it here (alternate download site here). Many, many thanks go out to Liz Ard for the recording, which is of great help to those of us (namely, me) whose internet connections [...]
